using java in visual studio

I'm a Bizspark partner and only in the early stages of getting familiar with Visual Studio 2012.  I am focused on Visual Basic, but have to do work in Java (not JavaScript) this semester in school.  I would like to be able to very basic Java projects in the Visual Studio.  Is this possible?

It seems so according to this: http://improve.dk/compiling-java-in-visual-studio/, but I'd rather get this from an MSDN/Microsoft page.

I did find this:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22616, but this indicates it is for the Team Foundation Server suggesting it really isn't what I'm looking for to program in Java within Visual Studio.  Perhaps I misunderstood why it is listed for TFS.

Please advise if I can, and the best way to setup Visual Studio to, do basic Java programming.  Again, nothing fancy, just beginner level work for now.

Thanks.
