My colleague and I both have i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHZ machines with 3.16GB of Ram (That's what the system shows at least) and we are randomly receiving out of memory errors from visual studio.
We are using controls provided by Telerik and originally I thought it may have been the JustCode add-in that was causing the problem. This is not the case because I turned the add-in off and the error still occurred. I read somewhere that the issue may be caused by the garbage collector running out of available memory. Would this issue be fixed if I was on a 64-bit OS?
Our solutions are by no means big. We are creating ASP.Net applications but at the most there are 10 different pages (aspx) within the solution. I should note that we are converting these applications from Lotus Notes so at development time we have Lotus Notes, Domino Designer, SSMS, VS2010, Chrome, as well as some other minor applications open. Could we just need more RAM?
