Hoping someone has experience the same and can suggest a solution...
First of all, I use a bit of an unorthodox setup for Visual Studio. Because I like to see four documents simultaneously, I float all of my documents into four windows and tile them across a monitor (Visual Studio can only split horizontally or split vertically - it can't do both simultaneously).
However, I've been noticing an extremely frustrating problem: for some reason, when I start debugging (i.e. hit F5), Visual Studio will for some reason forcibly close 1-2 of these floating windows.
- After this happens, I can't open the documents that were inside of them anymore. If I navigate to the Solution Explorer and double-click the file again, nothing happens.
- This applies to all documents that were inside a floating window. For example, suppose one floating window contained a tab group of 10 documents. If the start-debugging option decides it's going to arbitrarily force-close this window, all 10 documents inside the floating window are inaccessible.
- The document(s) show up in the "Window" menu at the top of Visual Studio, but if I select it from there, it doesn't come back.
- The only way I can re-open the document again is if I completely shut down Visual Studio and open it back up.
This occurs very sporadically. Sometimes when I debug, one floating window will close. Other times, up to 3 of them will close. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this is very frustrating!
