IISExpress with Studio

Hi all,

As of yesterday, this started happening and I have not ever seen it before. I've done a little web searching and can't get any resolution. So maybe it will seem familiar to someone?

Here's the situation. I am running Studio 2010 and using IISExpress. I installed 2012 side-by-side with 2010 last week. Now, when I open 2010 or 2012 and select "file->open->web site" I get an error message under the Local IIS->IIS Express Sites that says :

"Cannot access the IIS Express applicationHost.config"

However, I haven't change this file. It worked last week. I checked the privs on the file and it all looks good -- I even gave "everyone" read privs, but that made no difference.

I can open a command prompt and launch iisexpress.exe from the command line and everything is great -- and I can open the site in IE, but still can't open it in Studio.

After some research, it may be that the default location of the IISExpress config file maybe incorrect? In any case, I tried adding the application variable "IIS_USER_HOME" and that doesn't seem to make a difference. And I tried adding a registry entry for it, but that also didn't make any difference.

SO. Could one of you either point me to a possible solution or maybe some documentation that would allow me to see or change the Studio settings that control how Studio interacts with IISExpress? Or maybe a log file or something that I could look at to show me the path that VS is using to try to find the applicationHost.config? I can't seem to locate any documentation that mentions any of that.

Any help is appreciated.
