CORRECTION: misinterpreted (&misread) process explorer, it is not ekrn.exe (nor ekm.exe) which is slammng cpu. Devenv.exe is spiking cpu whenever I type in the editor (which makes much more sense).
What options relating to background processing (intellisense, etc.) might affect this?
I'm using Visual Studio Ultimate.
ORIGINAL POST:
Suddenly whenever I type something in editor in visual studio, my cpu is slammed by this process called "ekm.exe".
Searching, I can find nothing about this process. I'm guessing that it might have to do with intellisense or some behind-the-scenes code analysis.
I notice that the code-completeion suggestions also are not appearing as I type, although if I wait for quite a long time, maybe sometimes a code completion suggestion will appear.
Is the ekm.exe process related to code completion suggestion? Is it even part of visual studio?
If it is part of visual studio what configuration options control whatever it is doing?
