Hey all. So I will attempt to set out the issue as plainly as I am able and hopefully someone will be able to help me resolve it.
To begin with, what I am attempting to do in the 2103 IDE, I am able to do in 2012 and 2010. So now to the issue.
Firstly, I have an ODBC driver that I add to my Data Connections in the Server Explorer of the IDE. After adding this driver, I am able to see all of my Tables and Views under the ODBC. This is a good thing. I can open/expand the Tables and the tool shows me all of the Tables, so we are still good. I can also expand each of the tables to see the listing of all of the columns in the table. Everything still looks like there is no problem. I can even right-click a table and select new query, build an SQL statement, run it (Ctrl-R) and have the resulting table show up on my Query Pane. So I know that the ODBC is instantiated alright as everything appears to be working flawlessly.
So now the problem. Right-Click once again on the table, but rather than selecting new query, select Retrieve Data. This will cause MY Visual Studio 2013 IDE to crash.
So looking forward to being able to once again quickly retrieve data rather than building queries every time I want to look at the content of my table!
Thank you in advance
