THE ISSUE:
After testing a Windows 8 app using Visual Studio 2013 Express RC -- Windows 8.1's own "Store" live tile appears to malfunction. My app successfully tested and ran (cool) -- but now, when I got to the Windows 8.1 Start screen on my computer, Windows Store live tile says there's an update. If I click on the Windows Store Live tile -- I see "Update (1)" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. But when I click on "Update (1)", I'm taken to the screen that reads: "APP UPDATES: No updates available."
WHAT'S BEEN TRIED TO FIX
Switching the Windows Store App Updates setting to "Automatically update my apps" to Yes -- makes the notification go away in the Store Live tile and also in the upper right hand corner. But it's not really a solution since once you change it back to "no" it returns. This is definitely a "developer problem," meaning not critical or serious, but still, as a developer would like to know how this works and to fix it.
THE EQUIPMENT
Fully patched Windows 8.1 Update 1 Dell XPS 8500 with i5 microprocessor. Visual Studio 2013 Express Release Candidate.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
