After installing Visual Studio 13 no controls are visible in Designer View when creating Windows Store app

Hi folks.

After installing Visual Studio 13 yesterday, I can no longer see any controls in the design view when creating Windows Store apps.

For example, if I try to create a project based on the SplitView template, I can see the outline of the controls when I hover over the design view with my mouse, but everything is transparent (you know, white and gray checkered pattern) - even the background in VS.

I have VS 2013 Premium and Windows 8.1

Any suggestions on what to do? (I have of course tried reinstalling several times without any luck)
