I know this question has been asked a lot but I still have not found an answer. I have tried almost everything I can find on the web with no luck. I only develop in C# so all the web cache and asp suggestions do not help. I've also tried"SET NO-DEBUG_HEAP=1" which might have helped a little but it is only supposed to help when running apps from the command line which I never do. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall win 7 or VS. I do use a third party tool kit from Resco. I can say that VS2008 worked fine for a long time, even with Resco tools installed. Then one day it just started running really slow. Typical symptoms:
1. Takes a long time to switch between tabs, such as Designer and Code views.
2. VS2008 takes a long time to close down when I exit.
3. VS2008 takes a long time to load even very simple applications with almost no code in them.
4. I've gone back and opened apps which I have not touched in several years and they also suffer the same slowness. I've even created apps with virtually nothing in them and they suffer from all the same slowness issues.
I have to stick with VS2008 because I do mostly WM development work for industrial handhelds (no phone stuff).
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
