Visual Studio 2017 - SSIS Project Incompatible

$

Hi All,

I created and have been working on a VS2017 SSIS SSDT solution for the past week. Visual Studio crashed a little while ago and after the restart the toolbar message said xxxx plugin caused the crash, click disable after restart never see this message again.

I clicked disable and restart now Visual Studio says my SSIS solution is incompatible and I can't open it, either starting Visual Studio then select the solution or right clicking and selecting open with.

So how do I re-enable SSIS packages?

Thanks

[VS2017] Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component in Visual Studio 2017

I downloaded get started project from Azure Mobile Service for Xamarin.Forms with C# Backend. Please refer screenshots:

I opened that project in my Visual Studio 2017, updated/installed all the required libraries, there are no any build errors, rebuilding the project succeeds. But when I try to add a Azure Mobile Apps Table Controller inside Controllers folder then I get this error:

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component

I tried repairing visual studio. Updated it to the latest version, tried different approaches that I found in following links but nothing works.

What is used to make a website in Visual Studio?

Hello,

What is used to make a website in Visual Studio (VS)? I ask this because of the amount of different ways I see that one can attempt to build a website in VS, there's a lot! Maybe what do people use today that aims in the direction Microsoft is going with VS, like MVC model or traditional pages?

Error on removed index creating a database using a VS 2017 database project

I have a Database project I created in VS 2017. I've changed it substantially including moving columns to different tables, etc.

I then deleted the bin & obj folders. I also went to C:\Users\david\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\ProjectsV13, killed sqlserver.exe in the running processes, and then deleted all files in that folder.

And I am still getting the following when I build:

MSDN subscription - expiration use of software

$

Hi!

I'd like to know if, after "Visual Studio with MSDN" subscription expires I won't be allowed to use the software I downloaded,

for example SQL Server Enterprise. I saw something that I can use all the software that I could download during the signature

of MSDN (its perpetual use), other say that I can use for 2 years and after that I cannot use it anymore if I don't make a

MSDN subscription again.

Does anybody know something about it?

Regards,

Cláudia

my android emulator seems not work while using hyper-v

Hello, I am a new guy on coding android app using C++. I just tried my first case  according to "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/cross-platform/create-an-android-native-activity-app?view=vs-2017". It seems that I have followed all the instructions in the"https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/visualstudio/2018/05/08/hyper-v-android-emulator-support/". But something is wrong with my android emulator. Here is the issue:

Suppose chosing the "Android_Accelerated_x86_oreo" and then debuging or excecuting, nothing happened, it seems that the emulator doesn't work.

Suppose chosing the "Visual studio_android-23_x86_phone", it popped up an dyploy error, and tell me "1>emulator: Requested console port 5554: Inferring adb port 5555.
1>emulator: ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
1>Please ensure Intel HAXM is properly installed and usable.
1>CPU acceleration status: Please disable Hyper-V before using the Android Emulator.  Start a command prompt as Administrator, run 'bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off', reboot."

Anybody can help me solve this? I am really appreciate for your kindly help!PS: I can succesfully launch Android_Accelerated_x86_oreo and Visual studio_android-23_x86_phone in Android Devcie Manager directly (without deploy any app)

I have a developer business account set up and my first app submission started.  However I am stuck at the part where I'm supposed to upload my Visual Studio "package".

1)  Is the Microsoft Store only for apps created in Visual Studio and NOT meant for developers who build windows apps in other languages and platforms?  (Like Lazarus, Delphi, etc)

2) Is it possible to encapsulate a Lazarus (Windows .exe file) inside a Visual Studio "package" so that it can be licensed/downloaded via the Microsoft App Store?  If so, how exactly?  I've been sent a lot of links by a lot of ppl about Visual Studio and none of those links gives the answer to my question.  They just explain how to download VS and use it to build VS apps.

3) Am I in the totally wrong window of the app submission process and there is a separate window for uploading Windows .exe files?

Unable to see design view

My upgrade to VS 15.8.3 appears to have caused the Design View to only show the message, "Build the Project to update the Design view."  However, doing a build only causes this same message to reappear.

I can find no setting that might affect this behavior.  Is this a bug?  If not, how can I return to the previous behavior?

Hi,

I'm using Visual Studio products as an Cisco employee. I'm licensed to Visual Studio Professional Edition product family with license number  68443398.

All though i'm licensed as mentioned, i still can't report a problem from the Visual Studio 2017 IDE.
I'm getting the following message:
"Your sign-in was successful but you don't have permission to access this resource".

Finally starting looking at cross platform.

The basic Xamarin project first build I always have to cancel, second one takes around 40 seconds from F5 until it shows on the emulator. Is tis normal?

VS 2017 Pro 15.8.1 - SetSite failed for package [Shared Web Components]

I updated VS 2017 Pro to version 15.8.1.  When I try to open a web site project (which I last opened in April, so probably in version 15.5), I get the following error message:

"The 'Shared Web Components' package did not load correctly."  It references the activity log (relevant entry shown below) and suggests restarting VS.  Restarting VS does not help.

The corresponding record in the activity log:

Anyone know how to fix this?

Visual Studio 2017 Show Table Data does not work

I am using Visual Studio 2017's 'Server Explorer' to connect to a Microsoft SQL database. I set up the connection and successfully connect to the database and can see the tables. However when I choose the 'Show Table Data' from one of the tables, I get the error 'An unexpected error occurred while populating the table or view information.'

Interestingly, if I execute the query: 'SELECT * from table' for the same table, this seems to work correctly and shows the table data.

Note also, that if I use Visual Studio 2010, I can connect to this same database and everything works as expected.

Does anyone have an idea why this does not work in the 2017 version or how I might diagnose the problem. The error message is a bit vague to say the least.

Thanks.

Visual Studio 2015 Professional Not Responding for minutes

For a few weeks/months now, I am experiencing very frequent 'Visual Studio Not Responding' problems.  My Visual Studio 2015 Professional (Version 14.0.2543.01 Update 3) frequently hangs for about 7 to 10 minutes, which is quite annoying and reduces my productivity.  This typically happens a few seconds or minutes after startup and loading of the solution file.  After it happened, I can continue using it without any new hangs, until I close it and start it again.  It also happens with very simpel solution files.

I tried solving the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling VS2015, but that didn't help (although I didn't completely remove the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0 folder after I uninstalled).

I've used PerfView to create a PerfViewData.etl.zip file as follows:

PerfView.exe collect /zip:true /nogui /threadtime:true /AcceptEULA

The result can be downloaded from here:

I have no clue where to start looking in order to solve this problem.  Can anyone help me out here?
